WBCI provides funds to Wyoming Cancer Resource Services for free mammogram screenings, diagnostic exams and biopsies without restrictions based on gender, age, insurance or income.

As an advocate for a healthy community, we offer a variety of support groups including Stroke Survivor and Caregiver Support Group. We offer a range of topics at support group that may include kinds of strokes, changes after a stroke, therapy options, the grief process and how to cope after a stroke. The Chronic Disease Prevention Program (CDPP) is part of the Prevention and Health Promotion Unit of the Public Health Division and is a 100% federally funded program. Currently, the grants funding this program emphasize diabetes prevention and management, cardiovascular disease prevention and management, and chronic disease self-management.

Our Diabetes & Nutritional Education provides personalized education and support to help individuals understand and manage diabetes with confidence. As an accredited diabetes self-management and training program through the Association of Diabetes care and education specialists (ADCES), we meet rigorous clinical standards and have a team of 2 Registered Dieticians (RD) and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialists (CDCES).

We have two outpatient clinics, one located in Arapahoe and one located in Ft. Washakie. Inpatient care is covered by a close working relationship with the excellent community hospitals in nearby Lander, Wyoming that has an 83-bed hospital, fully staffed inpatient psychiatric hospital and also Central Wyoming Rehabilitation Unit and Riverton Memorial Hospital has a fully staffed 70-bed hospital.

The overall goals of the program are to reduce morbidity and mortality associated with occupational coal dust exposure by promoting maximum functionality of our patients’ cardiopulmonary health, improving patient compliance with doctor’s recommendations and safety regulations, decreasing prevalence of Black Lung cases, and improving quality of life for miners.

We are staffed with family physicians, pediatricians, physician assistant, family nurse practitioners, psychologists, dentists, dietician, public health nurses and optometrists. Specialty clinics are also held at our facilities ranging from orthopedic, podiatry, nephrology, obstetrics, audiology, women's health and cardiopulmonary services.
