Services offered include but are not limited to crisis intervention, personal and legal advocacy, sheltering, counseling, support groups, financial assistance and development of life skills. Our confidential services are provided without cost to the individual. The SAFV Task Force is a victim advocacy program that provides protection, assistance, and support to the victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking.

A Community VA clinic with primary medical services including labs, audiology, physical therapy, telehealth specialties and mental health services. Veterans in need of services not available at this clinic are referred to the Sheridan VA Medical Center, another regional VA facility, or are scheduled within the local community. Trained advocates are available 24/7 to assist victims of domestic violence and sexual assault (DV/SA). We do not have a shelter but can offer a referral or in some cases, can offer one night of emergency shelter to DV/SA victims. Trained advocates can help with protection and stalking orders as well as safety planning and emotional support.

The YWCA has a shelter and provides advocacy services for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault / abuse, human trafficking, and stalking through the immediate crisis, medical, legal and social service involvement. YWCA has a 24 hour crisis line and shelter. Assistance with family violence and stalking protection orders, safely planning, support groups, accompaniment to hospital, law enforcement and court. YWCA provides child care tuition assistance to families who qualify.

Offering resources to support youth and families in crisis 24/7/365. The crisis hotline is available 24/7 to offer support and solutions. Crisis services are tailored to each individual and often include a crisis shelter stay for youth. Intake plans are driven by each client and their family to identify and address crisis and long-term needs. Reasons for intake include; emergency care and shelter, respite or therapeutic breaks, and group home services.

Grief is a normal and natural response to loss. We understand that grief comes in many forms and is unique to every individual. It can affect a person’s daily activities, routines, relationships and the way someone lives. Facing end-of-life issues or rebuilding a life after death can be one of the hardest things an individual, family or loved one will experience. We are here to help with that part of the process by offering grief care services free of charge to anyone in the community.

Those Veterans in need of services not available at a particular community outpatient clinic, like the Cody clinic, are either referred to the Sheridan VA Medical Center, another VA facility within the region, or are scheduled locally within the local community. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, excluding holidays.

The mental health service within the Sheridan VA Health Care System provides consultation, evaluation, and treatment for a variety of issues that can impact health and well-being. The services are available at the Sheridan VA Medical Center in Sheridan and the community VA clinics located in Afton, Casper, Cody, Evanston, Gillette, Riverton, Rock Springs and Worland. Veterans can also receive mental health care virtually on their smartphones, tablets or computers.

Stepping Stones is an 8-bed facility serving primarily Carbon County. Crisis placement beds are for youth who are out of control at home, possible substance abuse issues, struggling with school or referred by child protective services. Stepping Stones also serves as a runaway/homeless youth shelter. Long term placements tend to be court ordered. Youth who are ordered long term may have specific behaviors they need to work on or they are awaiting a different level of care.

Both primary medical and mental health services are available at the Evanston VA Clinic. Those Veterans in need of services not available at a particular community outpatient clinic, like the Evanston VA clinic, are either referred to the Sheridan VA Medical Center, another VA facility within the region, or are scheduled locally within the local community. Hours of operation (excluding holidays) are Monday through Wednesday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm; Thursday 8am-2:30pm; Closed Fridays.

Mercer Family Resource Center offers a course for teens to enable them to recognize the underlying emotions/triggers and replace anger with healthy coping skills. Women Veteran Program Managers are available at each VA Medical Center nationwide to assist women Veterans and coordinate services. Women Veterans who are interested in receiving care at VA should contact the nearest VA Medical Center. Women Veterans are assigned to a designated Women’s Health Primary Care Provider who can provide general primary care and is specially trained or experienced in women’s care.
