The function of the Public Defender is to represent persons accused of misdemeanors, felonies and probation violations in circuit and district courts who cannot afford to hire an attorney. The agency represents juveniles accused of delinquency in juvenile court and individuals on appeal in the Wyoming Supreme Court. Additional functions include representing individuals who are to be extradited to other states and individuals seeking post-conviction relief.

The Educational Opportunity Centers program provides advising and information on GED, college admissions and enrollment, and financial aid options including scholarships to qualified adults, veterans, active duty military families, and high school students who want to enter or continue a program of post secondary education.

Learn how to identify, understand, respond to signs of mental health struggles/substance use disorders. Learn the skills you need to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health problem. There are two types of trainings, one that focuses on assisting adults, and one that focuses on assisting youth.
