Eligibility

Aged 55 and older, pass a background check, Under 200% of Federal Poverty Level, agree to serve at least 20 hours a week and attend monthly trainings.

Description

Serve in school and other child-centered settings to tutor and mentor children. Volunteers receive a tax-free stipend of $4 per hour, mileage reimbursement and meal on site.

Providing organization

FOSTER GRANDPARENTS OF THE WYOMING ROCKIES

National Service program (AmeriCorps Seniors) which provides a way for volunteers age 55+ to stay active by serving children and youth in their communities. Foster Grandparents act as role models, mentors and friends to children with identified needs.
