Eligibility

Foster Grandparents qualify with both age and income. Medical expenses can be deducted up to 50% for qualification.

Fees

Once a person starts training then $4.oo per hour with a non-taxable stipend being paid. Along with mileage to training and volunteer station and 1 nutritionist meal is provided every service day.

The Office of Youth Alternatives Foster Grandparent Program is looking for tutor/mentors that are 55 years and older to work with children in a classroom setting that need extra support. Foster Grandparents make a difference in the lives of children in our community and earn an average of $350- $500 per month in a non-taxable stipend. (Some Qualifications Apply). Individuals interested in serving may call 637-6480 for more information. A minimum of 15 hours per week is required.
