Adoptable pets and Animal Control for the City of Rawlins DIRECTIONS Exit 215 off of I-80 to Cedar Street. Airport Road is the first right after leaving the interstate. Rawlins Animal Shelter is approximately .8 mile north on Airport Road and is on the west side of the road.
The Animal Control Division is composed of one Animal Control Supervisor, three Animal Control Officers, and three Animal Shelter Assistants. The Animal Control Division provides enforcement of the City's ordinances on animal control. They work to balance health, safety, and welfare needs of people and animals. The Animal Shelter is a City owned and operated facility. It provides housing and other shelter services for Gillette and Campbell County.
As of September 1st, 2021, the City of Cheyenne took over animal control services for Cheyenne and Laramie County. With this transition, the public may now call 307-637-6206 for animal control services. The new phone number will be active beginning Friday, October 29th. The City will provide these services daily from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
