Uprising is a Wyoming nonprofit confronting human trafficking and exploitation through prevention, awareness, and outreach. We provide youth education, caregiver classes, professional trainings, and community resources to recognize red flags and respond safely. Our volunteer program engages survivors and allies, and we connect individuals to survivor-informed resources while strengthening statewide networks of safety and support.

The Congressional Award (gold, silver and bronze medals) can be earned by ANY YOUNG PERSON age 14-24. There is no GPA requirement, and accommodations will be made when needed. Develop self-confidence and community engagement by logging hours in voluntary public service, physical fitness, personal development and exploration. Participants need a trusted adult as an advisor. WCAC staff can train/assist all advisors, parents and participants with questions. For more info see congressionalaward.org.

Foster Grandparent Program

The Office of Youth Alternatives Foster Grandparent Program is looking for tutor/mentors that are 55 years and older to work with children in a classroom setting that need extra support. Foster Grandparents make a difference in the lives of children in our community and earn an average of $350- $500 per month in a non-taxable stipend. (Some Qualifications Apply). Individuals interested in serving may call 637-6480 for more information. A minimum of 15 hours per week is required.
